Ruth has been a crazy dog lady for close to two decades but her particular love of raising puppies was the motivation behind starting pupstarts.
ruth’s history with puppies to date
2008-now: professional pet photographer, during which time she has photographed over 150 baby puppies for private clients.
2008-now: volunteer photographer for several rescue groups, during this time she has photographed over 400 rescue puppies to help them find their forever homes.
2008-now: foster carer for Puppy Love Rescue, Fetching Dogs, Saving Staffies and Sydney Dogs & Cats Home. 32 puppies were raised in her home with the help of her husband and their four adult rescue dogs. Many of those foster puppies attended puppy school while in care.
2018: adopted and raised her foster puppy Peanut Butter.
2020: adopted and raised her foster puppy Ninja.
2023: one week board and train with Axel the Bull Arab puppy.
Both Peanut Butter and Ninja are trained actors and have completed several commercial jobs – both in print and on screen. You can read more about them on the Ruthless Photos website.
ruth’s dog training history
2008-now: attended numerous seminars and workshops held by Australia and America’s leading dog trainers.
2008-2020: had many one-on-one classes with those trainers, generally for help with dog aggression and reactivity issues.
2008-now: attended group obedience classes with all of the seven dogs she’s owned.
2018: completed Michael Ellis’ online courses in how to raise a puppy and training with food.
2021: completed K9Fun’s Introduction to Agility course.
2024: completed Happy Chappy’s trick training course.

2023: graduated Vicki Austin’s Puppy School Instructor course
2024: completed the Australian Red Cross Pet First Aid course
